Our service
We provide traumatology, neurosurgery, specialized soft tissue surgery and endoscopy services at the Vetermed Institute and in different veterinary clinics throughout Spain, mainly in Alicante, Murcia and Valencia.

José Rial Cels
A graduate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Murcia, with a DEA (Diploma of Advanced Studies) from the University of León, he is certified by the OCV (Official College of Veterinarians) and accredited by AVEPA (Spanish Association of Veterinary Surgeons) in traumatology and orthopedics. He completed postgraduate studies at ESAVS (Spanish Society of Veterinary Arthroscopy) in neurology and neurosurgery. He is a co-founder and the first president of the Spanish Society of Veterinary Arthroscopy. He has completed residencies at leading veterinary hospitals in the USA, Italy, and Portugal. He is the founder and former director of the Marina Baixa Veterinary Hospital and the Levante Diagnostic Imaging Center. He is a speaker at national and international conferences and teaches traumatology courses at Improve International. He is currently the director of the Vetermed Institute and works as a freelance surgeon for veterinary centers in Spain and Portugal.

Alba Rial García
A graduate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Murcia, she holds a European Diploma from the European College of Veterinary Surgery and is a GPCert SAS certified veterinarian. After working for two years at a leading veterinary hospital in Spain, she moved to England to join the team at Ridge Referrals in Dawlish. She then completed a year of rotating internship and a year of surgical residency at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists in Hampshire. Following this, she completed a three-year residency at the same institution, earning her ECVS diploma. Author of several scientific articles, she has a particular interest in feline orthopedics and minimally invasive surgery.
